Four Tucson homes. One big desert getaway.

Bring the group together at 28th Street for a planned gathering of up to 50 registered people, then settle in for the night across four fully equipped homes. Playa de Coronado looks over the city from a hillside terrace. Placita pairs a mountain-view pool with a shaded dining patio. Summer Rain opens onto The Loop in Oro Valley. Across the four addresses are 18 bedrooms, four kitchens, 11 full bathrooms and two half baths for up to 44 overnight guests. Plan to drive between homes.

Register all overnight guests and visitors and observe each home’s limit. The exact addresses and entry instructions are shared privately. Monthly stays are welcome and billed monthly. A security deposit is required.

Playa de Coronado · A hillside pool, a spa and the city lights

Step through the carved double doors at Playa and the first view is past the billiards table, through a wall of French doors, to the Catalinas. Architect Kevin B. Howard designed this multilevel home on a gated desert acre. The upper terrace is the place for sunset and the city lights. Downstairs, the office and gym open onto a different part of the garden with a lawn and outdoor bar.

Living and dining

The great room has a full-size billiards table, foosball and a stereo for music indoors. Around the corner, the family room has a deep sectional, a fireplace and a TV, so a movie can run while another game is underway. Outside the front doors, the ivy-covered courtyard has a shaded porch for a quiet coffee.

The kitchen has a wide granite island, two sinks, a cooktop and double wall ovens. There is room for one person to prep vegetables while another tends the stove, and stools at the breakfast bar let the rest of the family keep them company. Serve dinner at the wood table in the formal dining room. The family room opens directly onto the kitchen.

The outdoor space

The private, fenced pool terrace looks out over both the mountains and the city. The spa is a separate in-ground basin, so someone can soak while others swim. The fire table has lounge seating and the covered porch offers shade. A paver path leads past citrus and palms toward the lower lawn. Beyond the garden wall the landscape changes to saguaro-studded desert and a seasonal wash. In the morning there is a bistro table beside the pool and a separate shaded spot in the entry courtyard. In the evening you can see the lit pool from the wicker sofas at the gas fire table. Down the garden path, lemon and lime trees, an olive tree and bougainvillea give way to ocotillos and saguaros.

Access and amenities

The gated entry, smart-lock instructions and arrival details are provided privately before check-in. Your group has the home, garage, laundry, pool terraces, garden and lower-level amenities. The office has a dual-monitor desk and an ergonomic chair. The gym has a treadmill, exercise bike, weights and a mat. Its kitchenette has a sink, small fridge and toaster oven for an early breakfast without going upstairs. The office bookshelves and gym TV are handy on a day indoors. The laundry room has a full-size front-loading washer and dryer and a utility sink. There are indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi access points, central heating and air, and ceiling fans in the living areas and bedrooms.

Around the house and getting there

The Finger Rock trailhead serves routes into the Catalinas, including Pontatoc Canyon and Pontatoc Ridge. The old mine route is for experienced hikers. For an easier day out, choose Sabino Canyon’s tram, a meal and shopping at La Encantada, or a round of golf in the foothills. The wash below the house is part of the surrounding desert, and wildlife often passes through.

Use the attached garage and private driveway. A 120-volt Level 1 connection in the garage is suitable for a slow EV charge. The home spans two levels, with stairs between the main living area and lower yard.

Pool details

Optional gas pool heat is ordered for the entire stay. Allow 24–48 hours for warm-up. For short stays, the whole-stay price is calculated at $249 for the first day plus $129 for each additional day from October through March, or $149 plus $89 for each additional day from April through September. Spa heat is included on short stays. For stays of 30 nights or longer, pool and spa heat is a one-time $350 plus gas used. Keep the pool covered when idle from October through April and whenever the heater is running and no one is swimming. The pool heater targets 90°F. Leave the cleaning robot and pool equipment in place. Keep glass off the pool deck and music indoors.

Placita · A shaded pool patio, mountain views and room for family dinners

Breakfast at Placita comes with a Catalina Mountain view from the kitchen sink. Take your coffee to one of the two tables under the covered patio and watch birds visit the fountain beside the private pool. This one-acre foothills home has four conventional bedrooms in two wings. Families with children can take the adjoining rooms on one side, while another couple has a king room across the house.

Living and dining

A living palm grows in the entry beneath a vaulted ceiling. The games room has an eight-foot slate billiards table, exposed beams, darts and a two-sided fireplace shared with the dining room. There is also foosball. The separate family room has sofas, a projector and another fireplace, so the billiards players and movie watchers can each settle in for the evening.

The formal dining table seats eight beside the fireplace. In the kitchen, the granite counters, electric range and oven, large sink, dishwasher and fridge with ice maker make it easy to cook for several families. Bring dinner outside to the shaded tables or cook on the propane grill. Guests refill the grill tank if it runs empty. A full-size washer and dryer, utility sink and laundry soap are in the west wing.

The outdoor space

Placita’s private pool has no gas heater. Water temperature follows the weather, so choose Playa if a heated swim matters to your group. Palms, palo verde, flowering desert plants and the bird fountain frame the yard. The covered patio stays useful even when the pool deck is in full sun. There are places outside for a meal as well as places to sit and watch the mountain light change.

Access and amenities

Your group has the entire home, private backyard, pool and garage. Entry is by smart lock using the instructions sent before arrival. Workspaces in several rooms give people somewhere to take a call. Bedrooms have blackout curtains, cotton bedding and medium-firm mattresses. Some common-room windows are uncovered, a useful detail if anyone plans to sleep there. For a game night the house also has cards, board games and Roku-enabled TVs. The tiled living areas are separate from the carpeted bedrooms. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and two cooling systems for the split layout.

Around the house and getting there

Placita sits in the Catalina Foothills near Ventana Canyon. Choose Sabino Canyon for a tram ride or desert hike and Ventana Canyon for golf or spa time. Back at the house the landscaping draws quail and other birds. The kitchen, games room and primary bedroom all have mountain views, even on days when nobody wants to leave the house.

Placita allows a maximum of six vehicles. Use the garage first, then the private driveway. Street parking is prohibited. Plan carpools if your group will be coming and going between houses.

Pool details

Use the pool equipment as instructed and leave the pool cleaner in place. The propane supplied for the grill is separate from pool heating. Placita’s pool is unheated. Take music indoors and keep outdoor conversation considerate of the surrounding residential homes.

Summer Rain · Pusch Ridge, The Loop and a park beyond the backyard

This is the house for early riders, walkers and families heading to the playground. Summer Rain backs onto the Cañada del Oro wash in Oro Valley. The Loop bike route follows the wash, and Lambert Lane’s Riverfront Park, with volleyball courts and playgrounds, is about three homes away. Look across open desert toward Pusch Ridge from the shaded patio or through the upstairs windows.

Living and dining

A flagstone fireplace anchors the living room. There is an eight-foot billiards table and a separate nook with a coffee station, board games and a view of the mountains. The remodeled kitchen opens to a second family room with a large TV and a sofa, so one person can cook while others watch a movie. The garage includes a small workout area and parking for one car.

The full kitchen has the cookware and appliances for meals at home. Bring breakfast out under the shade tree, use the patio as a quiet workspace during the day, or take a seat around the outdoor fire lounge when the light fades on the ridge. There is a powder room off the kitchen, handy for anyone coming in from the patio.

The outdoor space

This home has a private yard. Swimming takes place at the shared HOA pool and spa about five doors away. The pool is heated year-round to a target of about 82°F. HOA eligibility and group limits apply. There are three private pools elsewhere in the collection for larger groups.

Access and amenities

Use the smart lock for the house. The patio backs onto open desert rather than another row of homes, and the wash sometimes carries water. From the house, head for The Loop or Riverfront Park for play areas and volleyball. Children under 14 must have an adult with them at the HOA pool. Follow the posted hours and keep glass, pets, alcohol and smoking outside the facility.

Around the house and getting there

Summer Rain is the Oro Valley base for the trip. Ride The Loop, walk to Lambert Lane’s Riverfront Park or spend a morning at the golf courses in the area. You can watch for quail and jackrabbits along the wash and see Pusch Ridge from the patio without setting out on a hike.

Park one car in the garage first, then use the two driveway spaces. Additional vehicles must use the designated guest parking near the HOA pool. Street parking is prohibited.

Pool details

The shared pool and spa allow up to eight eligible guests at once. Summer Rain’s house rules also exclude reservations of ten or more guests from the HOA facility. Larger reservations should plan their swims at the private pools at Playa, Placita or 28th Street. The reservation includes the whole Summer Rain house regardless of HOA pool eligibility.

28th Street · The Saguaro Sanctuary and the collection’s gathering home

Meet here for dinner. This east Tucson territorial-style ranch has two dining areas, a billiards room beside the kitchen and a private pool behind the house. Saguaros line the front garden, and the breakfast nook looks out onto the cactus landscaping. Of the four homes, 28th Street is the one designated for a planned, registered gathering of up to 50 people.

Living and dining

The kitchen opens to the billiards table and common rooms. Farther in, the family room has a sofa, a wood-burning fireplace, cards and board games. Guests can keep a poker game going in one room while others eat or catch up in the next. The bedrooms have their own Roku TVs for a quieter evening.

Quartz worktops, an electric range, a fridge with ice maker, a dishwasher and a blender equip the kitchen. Pull up a stool at the counter while dinner is cooking. Two dining areas and the front breakfast nook let your group set out food and sit in smaller groups. Outside there is a charcoal grill and space for a meal beside the pool.

The outdoor space

The private backyard pool has a deep end and a mountain view. Solar heating and the pool cover help retain warmth in sunny weather, particularly from spring through early fall. Optional whole-stay gas heat is available separately. The yard has patio seating, a firepit, mesquite, palms and bougainvillea. Plan an evening meal outdoors and bring music inside as the neighborhood settles down. The landscaped front and rear yards have different views. Eat breakfast overlooking the saguaros out front, then move to the back patio for the pool and the mountains. Guests using the grill should bring charcoal.

Access and amenities

Your group has the whole house, front and back yards, kitchen and private pool. Use the smart-lock instructions provided before arrival. Arrange the gathering and register everyone attending in advance. The 50-person allowance applies at this address only, and the collection’s combined overnight limit is 44.

Around the house and getting there

This is a convenient east-side base for the cactus forests of Saguaro National Park East. Pima Air & Space Museum and Reid Park Zoo offer alternatives to a hiking day. For quicker outings, the individual listing points to Palo Verde Park, Skate Country, nearby restaurants and groceries. After your day out, the front breakfast nook offers a quiet view of the saguaros while the rest of the house gathers by the pool.

The four houses are at separate addresses. Arrange drivers and parking for your 28th Street gathering before everyone arrives. Follow the arrival and parking instructions for this residential street and leave access clear for neighbors.

Pool details

Solar heat depends on the season, weather and overnight temperatures. Request a separate gas-heat quote before arrival if a warm pool is important to your plans. Use the cover as instructed and leave the pool vacuum running. The pool has a deep end and requires swimmers to know how to swim. No glass or running on the pool deck.
